The House App Challenge, which was introduced by the House of Representatives in 2013, is a competition that gets students underrepresented in STEAM excited for and thinking about projects in STEAM fields. Students are tasked with developing an app from the ground up, from initial idea to fully functioning app. They then create a video that demonstrates the idea, implementation, and impact of the app. Every Congressional district chooses a winner and those students are invited to a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Check out our 2018 winners.
Every year we challenge students in our districts to create and submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge (CAC). Each challenge is district-specific. As U.S. Representatives we publicly recognize our winning teams and each winning app may be put on display in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. Additional prizes may be available. Learn More.
